PopulationCouncil Consulting (PCC), in partnership with UNICEF Regional Office of South Asia (ROSA), is undertaking a study on landscaping preconception nutrition policies and programming in eight South Asian countries. The primary objective to the study is to review the status of policies, legislations and programme relating to preconception nutrition and develop a comprehensive understanding on program pathways adopted in different settings. This will help in identifying actions needed to improve nutritional care for adolescent girls and women and accelerating delivery of preconception nutritional support across the region. This study will support academia, practitioners and policy makers to leverage regional analyses and identify country and regional specific actions needed to improve nutritional care for adolescent girls and women and deliver preconception nutritional support across the region.
PCC were delighted to participate in the 2023 Regional conference on “Nourishing South Asia | Scaling-up equitable nutritional care for girls and women in South Asia” organized by UNICEF ROSA, 18th to 20th September 2023. PCC supported UNICEF ROSA in developing factsheets on maternal nutrition for the eight South Asian countries as well as regional factsheet for maternal and adolescent nutrition which were well appreciated by the audience.
